Ahmedabad: Two pen drives with conversations between BJP leader Amit Shah and senior police officers - in which they allegedly discuss the investigations into the fake encounter killing of college student Ishrat Jahan -have been submitted by the CBI to the Gujarat High Court.
Mr Shah was Home Minister of Gujarat in 2004, when Ishrat, a 19-year-old from Mumbai, was killed with three men on the outskirts of Ahmedabad by senior officers of the city's crime branch. The police said it had been told by intelligence officials that the group planned to assassinate Chief Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
